Paper Pattern:
No.of questions and allowed time :-
Reasoning-45, aptitude- 35, General Science-35, English -35, Technical-100 ,total 150 minutes.wrong answer-negative ¼.multiple choice type.
GS comprises of everything. Technical part as per your discipline. English is MAT type. Basic English-vocabulary, grammar will be ask. Refer 12th std math and any general analytical /verbal reasoning questions.
Each discipline same no of posts approx.metallurgy,electrical slightly higher.
Preparation:
Practice practice practice…………old papers. Buy any question bank like GK publisher’s SAIL or any other. And practice more to achieve speed. Questions will come from old papers.
Read any MAT level GS book,also look for some current affairs. pratijogita kiran, banking service chronicle, arihant etc..simple questions come,don't worry. Brush up history,geography,political science,books authors,sports etc.
Cut-off marks:-
cut off mark is generally 40-50%. Sectional cut-off will be there. If written score is just enough to qualify ,that is not sufficient.
1st subject wise cutoff.who clears all subject cutoffs,queue in a merit list.after first 1200-1300(if 300 will be ultimately selected),quotas,discipline wise requirement clears written.others are rejected.then written marks are given 60% weightage. GD and PI marks 40 % weightage,and added. Then top 300 merit list(again quotas and discipline wise requirement seen).

Aptitude—numerical aptitude, number series ,permutations-combinations, probability, profit-loss,time-distance, percentage, time and work, reservoir-tap, population, simple and compound interest, ratio-proportion, average, allegation and mixture etc.
Reasoning-syllogism,courses of actions,logical argument,force of argument,true-false statement,implication,logical conclusion,analogy,classification,union-intersection,dice-figure reasoning,bunching in figure-cube...,coding-decoding,data interpretation,direction test,blood relation,letter –number-symbol series,alphabet problem,sitting arrangement,password,input and passage interpretation etc
English-compression,detecting errors,fill in blank,passage interpretation,ordering sentence/passage,phrases and idioms,synonym,antonym,word power,preposition etc
GS-current and traditional
Technical is as per your stream. It likely be as GATE .
Instructions:
Remember filling up answer sheet in the exam day is time consuming. If you don’t practice this you will kill your valuable time.wrong fill up means cancellation of candidature,as correction is not allowed and the computer fails to read corrections.ball point pen is allowed.,whitener is not allowed.
Pay-scale:
Starting salary 28k, ctc 6 lakhs. Revision is due from 2007,will be implemented this month only and revised salary will be35000 plus perks and bonuses.ctc10 lakh approx.
